BISHOP GEORGIA E. JONES
Bishop Georgia Evelyn Jaubert-Jones was born in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas, and later obtained her BS degree from Wiley College. After finishing college, Bishop Jones worked for Texas Refinery & Atlantic Richfield Corp but was called to the ministry.
In March 1975, Bishop Jones founded Evangel Temple Christ Holy Sanctified Church in Lake Charles, LA. She was appointed District Superintendent in April 1977 and installed as Overseer in April, 1992. She made history in the Christ Holy Sanctified Church in August 1993 when she became the 1st female member of the National Board of Presbytery & was consummated Bishop in August, 2001. In 2006 she became the 1st female to become the Presiding Prelate of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church of America Inc. In 2008, Bishop Jones was called home to be with the Lord, but her legacy yet lives.
